Female-fronted heavy soulful metal
PINWHEEL is a hall of mirrors — seductive, unsettling, and loud as hell.
Formed in Austin, Texas, PINWHEEL emerged as a convergence of five distinct forces: vocalist Riki Shae, a former Miss Waikiki with roots in R&B and a voice that haunts and howls in equal measure; guitarist Mark Sean, a three-time Billboard-charting songwriter and former member of Black Heart Saints, the band crowned Best Metal Band by the Austin Chronicle Music Awards; guitarist James Austin Wadkins, whose textures and tension elevate every sonic turn; bassist Cameron McHenry, laying down hypnotic low-end that shifts like smoke; and drummer Terrin Burton, bringing relentless pulse and explosive precision.
Together, they forge something that lives between genres: heavy yet melodic, soulful yet brutal, theatrical yet deeply raw. It's the sound of broken glass under velvet, of emotion turned weapon. PINWHEEL channels the beauty and chaos of a decaying circus — groove-driven, darkly elegant, and emotionally unflinching.
Their live performances are not just shows — they're experiences. A dark carnival of sound and spectacle, drawing in crowds like moths to a flame: curious, spellbound, and ultimately consumed.
This isn't just music. It's a descent.
The wheel is turning. Step inside.
