What Is a Dressing Room?
A dressing room is a backstage area where performers prepare for their show. It is a private space away from the audience. Performers can change clothes, put on makeup, practice their vocals, or just relax before going on stage.
A dressing room is different from a green room. A green room is for relaxing. A dressing room is for getting ready.
Not all venues have dedicated dressing rooms. Small clubs may have just one room that serves as a dressing room. Large theaters may have several rooms, each with its own bathroom and amenities.
Some venues charge performers for use of dressing rooms. Performers should confirm what is included in their deal.
What Is in a Dressing Room?

Sometimes amenities are requested in the artist’s rider. The venue tries to meet these requests if they can.
