What Is a Bill in Live Music?
A bill is the list of entertainers who are going to perform at a show. It can also mean the physical poster or digital flyer that advertises the show.
When you look at a concert poster, you are looking at the bill. It tells the fans who is playing, where the show is, and when it happens.
Who Is on the Bill?
A bill usually includes more than one performer.
It can include a headliner, which is the main act of the night. It can also include one or more openers or supporting acts. These are the bands that play before the main act.
What Does “Top of the Bill” Mean?
When someone says an artist is at the “top of the bill,” it means they are the headliner.
Their name is usually printed the largest on the poster. They play last and usually get paid the most.
